Dragon Quest V DS shifts over a million in Japan

The Dragon Quest series has always been popular in its home territory of Japan. And that's been proven yet again by the sales figures for the latest game released there, Dragon Quest V.

The DS remake only went on sale on July 17th, but already its publisher Square Enix has announced it has shipped over one million copies.

Its predecessor Dragon Quest IV also sold over a million units when it was released last November. All of which bodes well for the release of Square Enix's Dragon Quest trilogy in Europe.
After all, over a million people can't be wrong about a game surely.

Dragon Quest: The Chapter of the Chosen will be the first game in the trilogy, as well as the first European release for the series, and comes out here this September.
