AppLift closes $13 million series A round with Prime Ventures

Demonstrating the continued importance of user acquisition, German outfit AppLift has raised $13 million from Dutch venture capital firm Prime Ventures in its series A funding round.

Launched 10 months ago, AppLift says it can currently deliver up to 1 million mobile installs per month.

It's been working with 80 publishers including King, Wooga and Kabam and over 500 media partners such as RTL and Closer.

It will use the funds to accelerates its global expansion with 50 news hires and new offices, as well as investing further in its marketing and monetisation platform.

Hand-in-hand

Based in Berlin, and with offices in San Francisco, Seoul and Paris, AppLift is part of HitFox group of companies, which also includes browser game marketing company ad2game.

"AppLift's team, technology platform and the synergies created through the HitFox Group and its portfolio companies quickly brought them ahead in the market," commented Prime Ventures partner Roel de Hoop.

"The closer we looked at AppLift, the more impressed we were. We saw the opportunity to invest in a leader within the fast-growing $10 billion mobile games market."

"Prime Ventures' entrepreneurial mindset is a perfect fit for us," added AppLift CEO Kaya Taner.

"We met them, got along immediately and agreed on a deal within five weeks. Prime is the perfect addition to expand and strengthen our position internationally."
