Dead or Alive: Paradise producer on masturbating players: 'we could consider that a success'

With the recent departure of outspoken Team Ninja figurehead Tomonobu Itagaki you might assume that the firm’s next Dead or Alive outing would ease off on the sexual tone which has arguably become the series' most prominent feature.

However, with Dead or Alive: Paradise due to arrive on PSP this year it would seem that Tecmo’s talented in-house team is firmly committed to playing havoc with gamers' hormones for at least a little while longer.

A spin-off of the famous fighting series, Paradise takes the voluptuous ladies that have made the franchise such a smash-hit and dresses them in tiny bikinis in order to show off as much digital flesh as possible.

One particular highlight is the “Butt Battle” game, where each female contestant is expected to thrust her rear end at her rival in an attempt to push her off a platform. Nice.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com, series producer Yoshinori Ueda seemed to be genuinely pleased that Team Ninja’s crowning achievement is that its products are used as tools of teenage arousal.

When asked if he believed that lusty gamers were interfering with themselves over Dead or Alive’s scantily-clad protagonists, Ueda replied that if it were indeed the case then the game could be considered a “success”.

So there you have it: direct from the horse’s mouth. Tabloid editors: if you’re reading this, you can have the headline “Sick developer creates masturbatory aid for spotty teen video game addicts” on us.

Damien's mum hoped he would grow out of playing silly video games and gain respectable employment. Perhaps become a teacher or a scientist, that kind of thing. Needless to say she now weeps openly whenever anyone asks how her son's getting on these days.
