Dead or Alive: Dimensions to mark 3DS debut for fighting franchise

Dead or Alive: Dimensions, a new instalment of the long-running fighting series is coming exclusively to Nintendo 3DS.

According to a report by GamePro, publisher Tecmo Koei made the announcement during a small event prior to the start of Toyko Game Show later this week.

Although screenshots (image is from Dead or Alive 3), video, or details relating to gameplay were not shared, Tecmo Koei insists that the game is an effort to court hardcore gamers with cutting edge 3D graphics and intense fighting gameplay.

Worryingly, there was no mention of multiplayer. Nintendo 3DS will support local multiplayer, which is a must-have feature for any brawler.

There was discussion of the game's plot during the event, though - as if that's important when beating the snot out of people. Dimensions will fill the space between the series first instalment and the most recent, Dead or Alive 4.

Dead or Alive: Dimensions will be available for Nintendo 3DS. No release date has been announced.
