If you've been hanging around for the past couple of weeks, you might know we've earmarked Crush as one of the forthcoming PSP titles to look out for. You can read about the game's appealing dynamic in our original news story, but if your mouse button has just packed up (a shame, as you're also likely to miss our subsequent interview with Kuju Brighton, the game's developer), just know the game mixes both a 2D and 3D dynamic, with the main character able to switch freely between the two in order to navigate and complete the various maze-like stages he finds himself in.

We don't actually have much more news with regards to the gameplay, although the new shots above do show elements of vertical play (the initial batch of images suggested the trans-dimensional tomfoolery might only work on a horizontal plane). They also give a little more insight into the game's individual look, and some of the elements such as pick-ups that are likely to affect play.

But what we did get along with the new screenshots is more official background on the narrative.

In short, Danny, the main character, is a troubled insomniac who seeks a cure from a Dr Reubens. Something of a maverick scientific phenomenon, the latter has come up the latest in psychotherapy: C.R.U.S.H. – or Cognitive Regression Utilizing pSychiatric Heuristics to its friends. This machine enables patients under hypnosis to travel amongst their neurones in an attempt to sort out their issues firsthand.

Well, it beats group counselling. Besides, it should make for a far more interesting game experience, which we expect to explore this summer.
