Crazy Taxi is one of those games that you have to play in order to properly appreciate - and now you can play it for a lot less thanks to a sale on the App Store.

Sega's dropped the price of Crazy Taxi from $4.99 / £2.99 to $1.99 / £1.49, which is a healthy discount for the Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winner.

Fare enough

Created during the halcyon Dreamcast-era of gaming, Sega's iconic taxi sim has you bomb around the hilly streets of a city that looks an awful lot like San Francisco while picking up passengers with wanton abandon.

But these trips are anything but routine as you regularly catch air off parking garages and careen through traffic jams to scare up as many fares as possible.

In our review of Crazy Taxi, we called it "a commendably faithful conversion" and found that - dated graphics and all - "Sega's classic still has that magical pull that makes you want to floor it to your next pick-up."

If you haven't flagged down Crazy Taxi yet, there's no time like the present.
