Gameloft's little white lie when it comes to Chuck Norris' App Store description

As you may have noticed, iPhone über-publisher Gameloft has been offering one free title every day on the App Store as part of its ongoing 10th birthday celebrations.

Today marks the second instalment of said promotion and up for grabs, for two hours at least, is Chuck Norris: Bring the Pain!

Now, it’s a well known fact that if you can see Chuck Norris, he can see you. And if you can’t see Chuck Norris, you may be only seconds away from death.

So, if one eagle-eyed punter spots the, err, deliberate mistake in the App Store publicity material for aforementioned scrolling beat ‘em up, then is he opening himself up to a roundhouse quicker than you can say ‘misquote’?!

Which version?

Let’s rewind for a sec...

Back in February 2009, Chuck Norris battered his way onto Java mobile phones and received a much-coveted 9/10 Gold Award from our very own Spanner Spencer.

Nine months later, the all-American champ debuted on iPhone, much to Spanner’s delight.

No official review of the iPhone version followed, but Chuck didn’t hold that against us... or, did he?

Our erstwhile contributor Spanner soon spotted an erroneous listing on the App Store on launch day - the mobile version reviewed by Spanner had miraculously been promoted from an excellent 9 of the mobile version to a 'perfect' 10 score in the iPhone game’s description.

Surely not even Chuck is allowed to pull off that kinda trickery?

Suffice to say, the ever-so-slightly inflated review score still appears today on the App Store blurb for Chuck’s ass-kicking adventure.
