Castle Doombad is a side-on tower defence title from Adult Swim Games and Grumpyface Studios. In it, you control the traps and minions of a despot's creepy castle.

There's a princess at the top, you see. And you need to keep a stream of heroes occupied with various ghouls, spike pits, projectile throwers, and acid drippers to make sure they don't reach her.

It's an interesting twist on the 'damsel in distress' theme. And as you'd expect from a game with an Adult Swim logo somewhere near it, there's a decent amount of humour running through the game.

There are 45 levels to work your way through, and a whole bunch of upgradable minions and traps to unlock and use to protect your evil hideout from archers, knights, and superheroes.

The game will set you back £1.99 / $2.99. There are some IAPs available, too, though, if you need to top up your coffers.

Castle Doombad will surface on the App Store this Thursday. While you wait for it to go live on Apple's marketplace, you could use your eyes to look at some screenshots from the game in the gallery at the top of this page.
