Boxing Star is hosting their spooky Halloween celebration event with lots of new content and new challenges
Developer FourThirtyInc has announced that they’re ringing in the spooky season with an event for their sports action game Boxing Star. This new update brings a fair bit of new content that ranges from cosmetics to in-game mechanics and even new missions!
Boxing Star is akin to something like the old Punch-Out games, for those of you not aware. It sees you square up against an opponent in the ring in a 1-on-1 battle where you’ll have to reflexively dodge incoming strikes while dishing out your own damage.
In between those fights, you’ll also be upgrading your gear and fighter himself, sending him through training regiments and buffing up his stats. This makes it even easier to take on the super tough opponents that await you at the end game.
As for this Halloween event, there will be two new powerful MegaPunch Gloves - the gloves that you can equip before you go into a fight. The first one is the F-99 Air Force Mega Punch, and is based upon a speedy super sonic punch ability that is almost too fast to even react to.
The other MegaPunch Glove is the Mr. Pola, which simply increases the chance of you scoring a critical hit in the fight. Upping your chance to do so means that you’ll be more likely to dish out huge lucky damage during a fight.
Of course, there are also new cosmetics, namely, the Day of The Dead mask which is inspired by the look of the Spanish holiday of the same name, as well as the Vampire Hunter costume, adorning your fighter in a fit akin to Van Helsing. You can earn both of these through the Halloween Costume Bags.
And those Bags will be handed out to you by completing Missions during the Halloween Mission Event, which will run alongside the event. This will give you a collection of tasks to tackle that will then give you an exchangeable currency that you can turn in for a variety of awards.
