Bloomtown: A Different Story brings JRPG demon-fighting, cosy fun to mobile, out now
Put Persona and Mother in a blender and hit 'puree'

- Bloomtown: A Different Story is out now on mobile
- Explore the idyllic 1960s town on your summer vacation
- And also save the world by battling it out with demons!
The JRPG genre is well-known for having a couple of cult classics which came to define modern approaches. Something like Mother (or Earthbound as Western fans know it), for example, or the Shin Megami Tensei Persona series. So what happens if you put those two together? You get Bloomtown: A Different Story, available to buy now on mobile.
This pixellated JRPG-style release received much fanfare when it was first released last year. Now, fans on mobile can get to grips with it themselves and find out what all the fuss is about. Set in the titular Bloomtown, you play as Emily, who journeys with her brother to this picturesque 1960s town for summer vacation.
Of course, things aren't what they seem, and when children start going missing, it's up to Emily and a collection of her friends to foil whatever may be taking place. But with a demonic world growing underneath the idyllic facade of Bloomtown, that's easier said than done.

Bloomin' hell!
The comparison to Persona and Mother is not just pulled straight out of thin air, either. While you'll have that 1960s small town to explore, and the perspective of a kid battling supernatural forces that the adults or unable or unwilling to accept, you'll also have access to the kind of tactical battles you'd expect from Persona. To take on the forces of darkness, you'll need to summon your own inner demons, tame those from the Underside and pit them against their former fellows. All while exploring and experiencing everything that Bloomtown has to offer, as you try to enjoy summer vacation while saving the world!
Bloomtown may be a great entry point for those of you wanting to get into the JRPG-like genre. In which case, you might want to try more! Why not check out our list of the best RPGs on Android for more?
