Grip Games brings Blimp: The Flying Adventures to PSP Minis
Rise of the zeppelin
Mixing up floaty aerial gameplay with platforming in the skies and hand painted graphics, Craneballs' iPhone game Blimp: The Flying Adventures was an enjoyable experience when released last summer on the App Store.
And now it's coming out as one of Sony's Minis for PSP and PS3, with Czech outfit Grip Digital acting as publisher and also getting involved in the development.
The game is much the same as before, albeit with some graphical enhancements for the larger screen resolution, button-based controls, and support for Grip's own leaderboard system.
Oversized funBaked over a steampunk story of a retired airship pilot drawn back into conflict - something backed with neat cartoon graphics - you have to direct your craft through 20 missions, set across four environments - dark forest, mines, snow mountains and red rocks.
Tasks include transporting passengers and goods, dropping bombs, protecting targets and, of course, decimating the enemy tanks, gun nests, blimps and bunkers using your offensive abilities.
Blimp: The Flying Adventures is due for release in the autumn.
You can get some idea how it plays in the following video of the iPhone version, or check out the website here.
