[UPDATE: Namco Bandai has been in touch to tell us that Bird Zapper! is delayed until March 24th, so that the developer can apply "last-minute tweaks".]

Namco Bandai's latest mobile offering Bird Zapper! is set to launch this week on iPhone and iPad, with an Android version following "shortly after".

Bird Zapper! revolves around Skippy the Squirrel, who is out to get revenge on a group of birds that electrified his music player. The aim is to swipe three or more birds lined up, down, or all around. The more birds you swipe, the higher the reward.

There are three game modes – Survival, Blitz, Zen. Our very own Jon Jordan previously listed Bird Zapper! as one of the 10 most promising iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad games from GDC 2011.

It'll be available for Android and as a universal iOS app for 59p/99c. Check out the gameplay below.
