Bejeweled 2 + Blitz on iPhone gets in-app purchases in latest update
Bucks to boosts, pounds to power ups

PopCap has introduced in-app purchases to addictive iPhone puzzler Bejeweled, letting you cough up real world cash in exchange for in-game unlocks.
Normally you’d rack up shiny gold coins by playing the game, getting high scores, and beating challenges. But now you can fill up your virtual coffers without even matching a single gem. You’ll just need your credit card number.
You get quite a few coins for your cash: 59p / 99c / €0.79c will get you 50,000 pieces of currency, while £5.49 / $8.99 / €6.99 will make you an instant match-three millionaire.
With boosts (special power-ups like 'Detonate all special gems once per game') costing a few thousand coins, you’ll get a lot of bang for your buck.
The update also gives you the ability to lock in the same three boosts every game, if you think you have a perfect strategy. Plus, a few visual tweaks, a new options menu and a separate boost selection menu.
The feature-bump is free to all owners of Bejeweled 2 + Blitz, which costs 59p / 99c / €0.79c on iPhone and iPod touch.
