Barmark is a strange name. Fitting, then, for a point-and-click adventure that's equal parts intriguing, unique, and beautiful.

"There are no goals, no points and no death. Barmark let's you be in control of your own experience," says Stormhatt Studios of its upcoming game.

What's there to do, then? Well, you can explore artistic landscapes, forging the environments as you wish "in order to achieve harmony and personal perfection."

Let's just focus on those environments for a while - they're easily the main draw of the game.

They look like extravagant paintings and have a naturalistic beauty as well as a mysterious, almost magical, quality.

I've spied forlorn forests, ruins of ancient civilisations, and dark caves lit by glowing rocks in the screenshots. I must also insist that you watch the game's trailer below.

Unfortunately, there are not details as to how we'll be able to manipulate the environments. In fact, details are quite scarce, which fits considering the game is about exploration.

We do know that each time you start a new game that you'll be assigned a different adventurer. So, while the game may be static, you at least have a different personality to discover it with each time.

Another hole in the details appears in the game's release date - there isn't one yet. The one thing that is confirmed is that Barmark will be coming to iPad and Android tablets.

There are plenty more images, videos, and snippets of information over on the game's official website.
