Cobra Command creator reveals first glimpse at new iPhone and iPad game

You'll know Australia-based Revolutionary Concepts from its recent retro laserdisc iPhone hit Cobra Command, and the studio has since been at work on a brand new game - so new, it doesn't even have a name yet.

This "Super Frog" type game is being developed for the iPhone, although there'll also be a big (touch)screen, high resolution version available just for the newly announced iPad.

The game revolves around your off-beat adventures as a super frog as he attempts to save the world from the terrifying combination of a blow-fly, two scientists (one good, one evil) and a nuclear reactor.

It'll be entirely controlled by touchscreen gestures that apparently won't even require an on-screen D-pad, so it'll be very interesting to find out just what sort of gameplay we're getting a sneak preview of here.

The game is about 70 per cent done, and will be ready for submission to Apple soon, so we'll bring you more Revolutionary Concepts news as soon as it comes in. In the meantime, check out this awesome-looking high-res iPad (iLilly pad?) screenshot.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
