Asphalt 9: Legends is everyone's favourite mobile racer, and it's bringing more racing action to your phone or tablet with the addition of Slipstream mode.

Found in the Daily Events, Slipstream offers a new take on the classic Asphalt 9 racing style, and will have you boosting through stages.

Though it's also pretty tough. Who knew? Hopefully with these tips you'll be able to rise up, overcome, and win all of those pesky races.

Follow the leader

Slipstream mode's main unique feature is, of course, following in the slipstream of the racers ahead of you. This is obvious, right?

Their slipstream will paint a blue trail on the floor, and driving in that trail will constantly make your nitro metre fill. Nice!

Staying in a slipstream isn't always easy, and it actually puts you at a disadvantage if you're in the lead - maybe stay in 2nd place until the finish line?

2
Never stop going fast

So staying in the slipstream lets your boost fill up, which is fantastic, but did you know you can actually keep boosting for the entire race?

Yep, you can slam on the boost for the whole race if you're smart and stay in slipstreams, giving you the speed you need to win.

Make sure to make use of perfect boosts and double tap boosts to go as fast as possible, and of course, make sure to still drift around those tighter corners.

The perfectionist's path

You'll only have one Slipstream track to worry about at a time, and of course that means you should take the tightest route possible.

But in slipstream, just taking a tight route isn't enough - you, of course, want to stay in slipstreams. That makes taking the perfect route a bit more difficult.

As mentioned earlier in this guide, you'll want to memorise the fastest routes and corners to take, while also trying to follow tightly behind one of the other racers for the best times.

Taking back control

Touchdrive is great. I love touchdrive. It just doesn't help much when you're in it to win it.

Touchdrive can nudge you around the track gently and nicely, but taking control of your own vehicle and taking tight corners, and staying in slipstreams, is the way to win in this mode.

Touchdrive will often take you out of the slipstreams of other racers - not something you have to worry about when you're in control. Though that doesn't exactly make it any easier.
