Asphalt 8: Airborne will speed onto the App Store and Google Play on August 22nd

Gameloft has confirmed that its globetrotting high-speed racer Asphalt 8: Airborne will accelerate onto the App Store and Google Play Store on August 22nd.

This next entry in the long-running Asphalt series boasts a new graphics engine, so, yes, those ridiculously souped-up motors will look better than ever in this new instalment.

For iOS gamers to really appreciate the benefits of these graphical improvements, it's recommended that you play Asphalt 8 on either an iPhone 5 or an iPad with Retina display (a.k.a. iPad 4).

Before you ask, though, it WILL run on an iPhone 4 (or later) and an iPad 2 (or later).
