Behaviour Interactive's asymmetric multiplayer horror game, Dead By Daylight Mobile, is off to a terrific start. The Montreal-based developer announced earlier today that DBD Mobile topped 1 million downloads in its first 48 hours of launch.
It sees one player-controller killer going up against four unlucky survivors in tense matches of hide-and-seek action. A large part of the appeal here is its extensive roster of playable horror icons, including Michael Myers, Stranger Things' Demogorgon, Freddy Krueger, and Ghostface from the Scream series.
"We are incredibly thrilled to see the reaction from players all over the globe", said Mathieu Cote, Game Director on Dead by Daylight and Product Evangelist for Behaviour Interactive. "Bringing Dead By Daylight to mobile is a great achievement for the company and doing it while maintaining the core gameplay and all the existing content is something that players are truly appreciating. We want to thank them for their unwavering support of the franchise. And to all the new players out there: Welcome to the Fog!"
Dead By Daylight across all platforms has now surpassed 20 million players globally. That number is only set to rise as the mobile ports continue to grow in popularity. The team is dedicated to offering long-term support for all platforms, with plans to deliver a variety of fresh content in the months to come.
I reviewed an earlier release of Dead By Daylight Mobile back in July of last year. It was in a fairly poor state at that point, plagued by muddy visuals, low-res character models, and clumsy controls. While I haven't had a chance to play the global version, it sounds like several of my earlier gripes have been addressed. In search of some multiplayer games to try with friends?
