Sociable Soccer's post-launch updates just keep on coming, and the latest of the bunch improves defensive AI, online matchmaking for friendly matches, and the online ranking system.

The team has received feedback that suggests the current AI is maybe a little on the easy side. This is being addressed in the latest update, which makes the AI better at marking the player and positioning itself to obstruct your shots.

It's a solid step towards improving the AI's defensive capabilities, and it's unlikely to be the only improvement we'll see in that area. Keeping all of this balanced will be especially tricky, as not everyone is playing at the same skill level. Tweaks to goalkeeper AI are also in the works.

On top of that, matchmaking for online friendly matches has been improved. You can now mark yourself as being up for an online game. From there, all you need to do is tap "Create Match" or "Join Match" when the icon starts flashing, as this means other players are available on the same server. At the moment, the option to mark yourself as available for a match is only accessible from the main menu.

The rankings table has also been altered to help more active players, so those who benefitted from keeping points by not playing have gone down in the rankings due to inactivity. For me, this tweak makes complete sense.
