Death Come True, the latest title from Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka and Izanagi Games, is set to launch for iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch in 2020. The announcement was first reported by Gematsu.

As you can tell from the teaser trailer below, it's a full-motion game, with Japanese stars Kanata Hongo and Chiaki Kuriyama portraying the leads. Kodaka is both directing and writing this one.

What we know so far is that the game takes place in a mysterious hotel. You play as a wanted serial killer (played by Hongo) who happens to be suffering from a sudden affliction of amnesia. To further complicate matters, he's somehow gained the ability to "time leap" and return to the past. That said, he can only trigger his new talent when he dies.

While it might be a little grim, the mechanic allows you to replay scenarios and make different decisions each time. It sounds like you'll eventually have to contend with Akane Sachimura (Kuriyama), a determined police investigator, after finding her tied up and unconscious in a bathtub.

The game's soundtrack is being worked on by legendary composer Masafumi Takada, whose work you may have heard in the likes of The Evil Within, Killer7, and the Danganronpa series.

We're big fans of Danganronpa here at Pocket Gamer, with both Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair and Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc earning silver ratings. The full-motion approach is definitely interesting, and Kodaka sure knows how to write and direct the hell out of a murder mystery. Look for Death Come True next year on iOS, Android, and Switch.
