EarthNight is a procedurally generated runner that dates all the way back to 2014 where it was originally aiming for a release on the PS Vita. It's good to see it's finally getting a full release where it is available on Apple Arcade with a Switch version coming later.

EarthNight takes place in a world where dragons have conquered the Earth. This meant that humans had to flee to outer space, they were lucky they had that option though. If the dragons rise up here, we might be doomed.

You will be able to choose between two characters in EarthNight, Stanley and Sydney. They're both dedicated to taking down as many dragons as possible so each level will you see skydive from space onto the backs of these beasts where you'll run along on top of them, avoiding obstacles and enemies as you try to bring them down.

As you sprint atop the dragons you'll be able to gather power-ups to aid you in your bid to free the Earth from the dragon's claws. You'll also collect water, dragon eggs and trophies from killing the winged beasties that you can use to purchase upgrades that you can select on your next run.

Each of the two characters will have their differences you'll have to learn to get the best out of the pair. Sydney is a young girl with ethereal superpowers who will have a double jump and the ability to dash mid-air. Stanley, on the other hand, has separate long and high jumps that will apparently allow him to easily maintain momentum.

EarthNight will be available through an Apple Arcade subscription, which you will be able to grab a 1-month free trial for. For a list of games that will join EarthNight on launch, check out our list.
