The dragon's gnarled coils have wrapped around roguelike runner EarthNight and snatched the game for itself.

In this case, the dragon is metaphorical for PlayStation.

You see, EarthNight has been in development for Android and iOS for the past couple of years. But, yesterday, it was announced that EarthNight would be coming to PS4 and Vita in 2015, instead.

I chose a dragon in that clumsy opening metaphor for a reason, too. EarthNight is a game about the dragon apocalypse.

You play as Stanley and Sydney (an unemployed photographer and a schoolgirl, respectively) as they attempt to take out as many dragons as possible.

It starts by skydiving through the serpent-filled skies. Then, once you've landed on the back of a dragon, the game turns into a sidescrolling runner.

With just two buttons, you're tasked with jumping across the hazardous back of the beast while fighting off fantastical creatures.

It's a game of reactions that's supposedly as difficult as its hand-painted artwork is beautiful.

As said, EarthNight won't be coming to the Vita until 2015, and it will be after the PS4 release.
