True Legacy is a text-driven adventure game which offers up a creepily plausible look into the future
What will you see?
Together with Failbetter Games (Sunless Sea) and Wellcome Trust, Blindfire Limited will be bringing its unsettling text-driven adventure, True Legacy, to iOS next week and I'm morbidly curious about it.
Set in a dystopian 21st century metropolis, you'll play as Clair Thornhill as you investigate a politically sensitive murder. Testing your ethics and puzzle-solving skills, you've got to navigate your way around this not-so-distant world all while being pushed to reveal what you truly think about certain topics.
It's difficult to really look into True Legacy as there's only a scattering of information and a 35-second announcement trailer for it. However, from the looks of things its narrative should be deep and rich and filled with difficult-to-make or misleading choices.
With 40,000 words to work through it's safe to assume there should be a number of different endings and consequential decisions, meaning replayability should be a joy.
Sure, this definitely won't be a game for those who hate narrative fiction or text-based games, but that's a bit of a given. True Legacy is currently available to pre-order on the App Store for £2.99/$2.99.
