Lineage 2: Revolution, which launched last November, has already reached 5 million players worldwide, according to developer NetMarble. To celebrate the momentous occasion, all players will be gifted 5 Enhance Scrolls.
Just last month, Lineage 2: Revolution received a hefty update featuring fortress seiges and other competitive gameplay modes, but NetMarble is keeping that momentum moving forward with a few goodies to keep players busy in the New Year with a generous heaping of new in-game events.
Starting now and running through January 18, the Combine Equipment Event rewards players who are able to acquire a Grade-S weapon or higher using a Grade-R Varnish Selection Box. And running through January 17, the Growth Mentor Event gives players automatic levelling when they complete five quests, and will be awarded Adena, an Enhanced Scroll Bundle, or a Blessed Scroll Bundle depending on the number of quests completed.
There’s a New Years log-in event happening, too, through January 21. Each day you log-in to the game will grant you special letters and in-game items.
We quite liked Lineage 2: Revolution. The gorgeous production values of the original PC MMO shine through in its mobile reincarnation, but the accessibility’s been scaled to better suit the mobile platform. You have the freedom to control your every encounter within the game, or, if you don’t have the time to commit to a full-blown MMORPG, switch on auto-play and let the game do most of the heavy lifting for you. It’s a prime example of how the MMORPG genre could set its sights on mobile in the future.
