Nintendo reveals the release date for upcoming 3DS puzzler Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy

Professor Layton's next 3DS adventure, Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, will be hitting UK shores on November 8th.

With this upcoming Professor Layton instalment, Level-5 and Nintendo will be bringing the sleuthing prof's puzzle-solving career to a timely, and probably not final, conclusion.

In Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, Layton and his two assistants, Luke and Emmy, go off in search of a living mummy.

On their travels, they will solve obtuse puzzles, wearing top hats as they do. Well, one of them wears a top hat, anyway.

The game is set directly after the events of the Gold Award-winning Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. The game maker promises revelations about the prof's past, and future. It's a prequel, so stuff like that's allowed.

As well as the core game, there are three new mini-games in the professor's trunk, including one where you can dress up "colourful characters". Which sounds weird.

There are 150 puzzles in the main game. There will also be 365 unlockable daily puzzles (one for every day of the year after the game's release).

So, mark your diaries, folks. November 8th = Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy. Puzzles, hats, dressing-up, and some other cool stuff.
