Play Google's web-based Chrome Super Sync Sports using your smartphone or tablet as a controller

Search giant Google has just released an HTML5-powered web game that allows you to use your smartphone or tablet as a controller.

The game's called Chrome Super Sync Sports, and it's - as it name suggests - a colourful athletics title in which you compete against three friends on a shared screen across three events (running, swimming, and cycling).

You can play on your own against AI-controlled opponents, too, but this game is much more fun if you have some competitive buddies.

Interested? Okay. Visit the Chrome Super Sync Sports website on your Mac or PC, and then follow the simple on-screen instructions to sync a smartphone or tablet.

I did this with my iPhone 5 via Google's suggested Chrome mobile browser, and it took less than a minute to connect. I tried it via the mobile version of Safari, too, but unfortunately had no luck.

Anyway, once connected, you control your on-computer sports fanatic by completing set gestures as quickly as possible on your handheld device's touchscreen. It's that simple.

It's free. Check it out.
