Welcome back to Pocket Gamer's round-up of the latest iPhone and iPad mid-week releases.

As you all probably know by now, we produce this article because we're simply too busy to bring you a story on every single new mid-week release.

These games have recently hit the New Zealand App Store, meaning they should be available to download in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.

Towers N' Trolls

This, as you can guess from its name, is a tower defence title from the creators of Toy Soldiers and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

Your aim is to protect your kingdom from invading waves of trolls over 30 different levels and six unique worlds - all of which are packed with hand-drawn environments.

According to its App Store description, Towers N' Trolls features "nail-biting moments where your fate teeters on a razor's edge". Exciting.

Monkey Island Tales 5

Monkey Island Tales 5 is the final instalment in the five-part Tales series of adventures that follows the 'fortunes' of lacklustre pirate Guybrush Threepwood.

If you're familiar with this franchise, you'll already know that you'll be solving a bunch of tricky puzzles to achieve one specific overall goal.

This time around, that goal is to save Monkey Island from the Rise of the Pirate God. Rather you than us.

Munch Time

Thankfully, your green friend can use his super-strong tongue to grab onto plants and swing into otherwise unreachable areas of food.

You do this across 40 different levels and two different themes.

Retro Racing

Retro Racing, which is from the developer of Amiga racers Nitro and ATR, is a top-down racing title that sees you skid, slide, spin, and drive around various tracks at breakneck speeds.

Each of the game's tracks is filled with collectible power-ups and pesky cones, which have to be avoided if you don't want an early trip to the pit lane.

Play Retro Racing on an iPad and you can even go head-to-head against one of your buddies.

Sticky Sheep

This colourful physics-puzzler tasks you with using bumpers, turbo-paths, switches, and a range of other wacky objects to bounce a bunch of mischievous sheep onto sticky pads.

There are two different game modes to play through: Story and Arcade. The latter of these charges you with capturing as many sheep as you possibly can in 60 seconds.

Mafia Rush

The experience you earn as you battle can be used to upgrade your agility, speed, and health. That should give you the upper hand.
