If you're a fan of the futuristic WipEout racing series, you'll be overjoyed to read that zero-gravity racer G-Bikes has just glided onto the Android Market.

Unchained Developers's new Android racing experience lets you zip around some gorgeously rendered racecourses, saying goodbye to boring old 2012 in the fastest way possible.

In G-Bikes, you can swoosh your way along 18 tracks across six intergalactic locations, earning engine and handling upgrades for your bike as you go.

Speed of sound

Social butterflies can take advantage of multiplayer support, although it's still in beta at the moment. Eventually, however, the guys at Unchained Developers claim G-Bikes will support cross-platform multiplayer between Android and PC.

It's worth stating that the rather shiny graphics do put a bit of a strain on the hardware, meaning that you need to own an Android device with a minimum 1GHz processor to run the game.

Early user reviews are positive, and speculative buyers can try a free demo if they need a little convincing.

If you've already decided that this is the game to stave off the symptoms of WipEout withdrawal, mind, you can download G-Bikes from the Android Market today for £2.00 / $3.08 [download].

Check out the video below for a look at the game in motion.
