Pocket Gamer's Gold Award winning iPhone platformer Hook Worlds has received a meaty update, adding a host of new extras.

For starters, a fourth world has been added, which is initially locked pending a silver medal in any of the previous worlds.
Accompanying this new world are brand new rewards based on score milestones.

Hook Worlds's visuals have also received an overhaul, with Retina display support for all iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G devices. Furthermore, fast-app-switching and Game Center support for leaderboards and achievements has been included.

Other gameplay additions include unlockable endings for attaining a silver medal in the first three worlds, and costume packs via in-app purchase.

Unfortunately, as TouchArcade reports, this latest update has brought some problems with it, most notably a menu display bug. This can be remedied by simply turning off the screen flip option in the settings menu.

Players are also reporting issues with Game Center, specifically uploading score information. Rocketcat is aware of the issues.

Hook Worlds is available to download from the App Store for 59p / 99c.
