Revolutionary Concepts’s wacky iPhone game UFO on Tape, which has you keeping an alien spacecraft in the viewfinder as you wave your mobile at the sky, has received a free update.

Big news is that the iPad will be supported, with the app going universal for HD graphics on Apple’s tablet. The update also has auto-flip screen support and the option to invert the X and Y axes.

For those baffled by the iPad's lack of camera, the game simulates all the graphics and uses the accelerometer to detect movement. No camera required - it works on iPod touch, too.

The developer has revealed some features it has planned for future updates. Plans include a Night mode, weather patterns, and even the possibility of the UFO cropping up in new locations, including your own home town.

UFO on Tape features Game Center leaderboards and achievements, and is yours for just 59p / 99c / €0.79c.
