Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 kicks off on iPhone

Konami’s critically acclaimed soccer sim Pro Evolution Soccer, is back for another season. The game’s annual sequel, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, is now available to download on iPhone and iPod touch.

The game’s biggest addition is a multiplayer mode, allowing you to battle buddies on the pitch with local wi-fi and Bluetooth matches.

The single-player Career mode's had a feature bump too, with loads of official licensed teams and modes. You’ve got all the top European clubs, battling it out in the UEFA Champions and Europa leagues. The winners will then go through to the Super Cup Final.

There’s more realism on the pitch, with better stadia, weather effects, and loads of new animations for players and the referee. You’ll see your pintsize forward pull off technical moves like dives and bicycle kicks, before dancing down the turf with a goal celebration.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 is out now for iPhone and iPod touch. It’ll set you back £4.99 / $7.99 / €5.99.
