God of War: Ghost of Sparta 'contains a sex mini-game'

As film critic Mark Kermode is fond of pointing out, descriptions supplied by ratings boards are often more concise and informative than reviews. The ESRB's summary of forthcoming PSP gorefest God of War: Ghost of Sparta is no exception.

“This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a half-human, half-god Spartan (Kratos) who aims to rescue a relative and defeat the gods of the underworld,” writes the ESRB in its opening sentence, before artfully switching from the general to the specific.

“Blood stains are […] depicted on the ground and surrounding walls, and sometimes on the bodies of fallen characters. In one sequence, a soldier is depicted cut in half, with blood and entrails surrounding his body.”

It all sounds like typical God of War fare, which of course means that you'll get to do some sex.

“The game also contains a sex mini-game in which players may lead topless women into a bedroom. Actual sex is never depicted; the camera pans out to the foot of a shaking bed. As players respond to on-screen prompts with button presses, loud moaning sounds can be heard.”

We've already taken a look at God of War: Ghost of Sparta, when Pocket Gamer's own Tracy Erickson smashed some goons and took down a giant sea monster at this year's E3. The game, which is set during the period between God of War 1 and 2, comes out in the US on November 2nd. No UK release date has been announced.
