Dundee based games developer Denki, self described as a 'digital toy factory', will be making its first steps onto the iPhone with Denki Blocks!, a refined version of the company's breakout Gameboy Advance hit.

While the Scottish developer had been caught up in the world of interactive television games, it's come back into the traditional game world, with a focus is on digital distribution.

It hasn't all be good news though as Quarrel, its game for Xbox Live Arcade couldn't find a publisher; a failure which infamously caused the studio to drastically downsize recently.

Denki Blocks! on iPhone marks the start of its rejuvenation.

Marker Penn

"We were itching to do another Denki Blocks!" writes designer Gary Penn, "and now seemed as good a time as any."

He describes the game as mind-toffee, ideal for snacking, and "the iPhone is an ideal vending machine so it’s a marriage made in heaven."

The game, which has you moving various coloured block shapes around the screen, will feature over 100 grey-matter taunting levels, with master challenges for true puzzle wizards. Complete all 100 master challenges to earn Denki Stars, which open up secret puzzles.

It'll be priced at £2.99, and a free, 16 puzzle taster will hopefully kickstart your Denki Blocks! addiction.

Denki Blocks! for the iPhone and iPod touch has been submitted to Apple, so it should hit the App Store within the next couple of weeks.
