First Yakuza PSP screenshots revealed

CVG has got its hands on the first screenshots of Sega's upcoming PSP spin-off of Yakuza.

Yakuza is a series of excellent brawling-RPGs set in modern day Tokyo. This latest edition takes a break from Kazuma Kiyru's saga to concentrate on Tatsuya Ukyou, a mouthy 18-year-old street punk.

The screenshots show our new hero kicking gangsters, punching people in the stomach, stamping on dudes' faces, and walking about Tokyo. It also showcases the cool graphic novel-esque cut-scenes, which are illustrated by Tokyo-based Spooky Graphics.

There's no confirmation whatsoever of an international release (though we've asked Sega to be sure), but the game is set for a Japanese release this year.
