It may have taken a light-year (well... ok, just a regular year), but Keith Maxwell's second adventure is finally coming to iPhone.

Released last year on mobile, and receiving high praise from Pocket Gamer and everyone else, space shooter Galaxy on Fire 2 will be hitting an iDevice touchscreen near you soon.

Fire away

The game is a mission-based blaster and trader, with various alien beings giving you jobs for cash, which can be used to upgrade your ship.

There's a variety of jobs to undertake, ranging from drug running, assassination and convoy protecting.

The scale of Keith's score is solar system-sized, offering several hours worth of play, building up your ship as you hunt for cash.

Fishlabs has also announced that the iPhone will receive a special mission pack, featuring the alien side of the story.

From the Fishlabs blog post:

"You can look forward to seeing Keith and other acquaintances from the first part once again later this year and play the alien part for the first time in the mission pack in summer."

Fishlabs also mentions it's working on an iPhone racing game that has music as an essential component, and a triple-A title for Nokia featuring OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics for a large screen.

We're thinking/hoping tablet?

Finally, Fishlabs will be porting more of its older games to Android.
