EA Mobile to publish Dragon's Lair on iPhone

We've known Laserdisc 'classic' Dragon's Lair has been in development for iPhone for a while, although the news EA Mobile is picking up its publishing rights is something of a surprise.

Noted for its at-the-time revolutionary graphics if not at-all interactive gameplay - basically hit button now or die - the game's about Dirk the Daring's quest to rescue Princess Daphne, who’s protected by the dragon Singe, from the wizard's castle.

So the next question is will this audience be prepared to pay EA Mobile prices for a game that originally came out in 1983 and has no replayability?

Guess we'll find out when it hits the App Store - in the words of EA - "soon".
