It's great that iPhone firmware update 3.0 introduces a bunch of cool new features, but if you're like us you want to know what games you can play today that take advantage of this great stuff.

While there aren't a ton of titles that offer full 3.0 experiences, we have rounded up several games that you can play right now that support the update in different ways.

From the ability to create music playlists via iPod Library Access to push notification services that allow you to stay in touch with the latest high scores of your buddies to expansion packs that can be bought from within games themselves, there's plenty of cutting edge gameplay awaiting you in these 3.0-enabled titles.

Engimo
Publisher/Developer: Pangea

This App Store launch title is among the first to support in-app commerce with the a pair of level packs. Available for £0.59/$0.99 a pop, two level packs are being offered that are geared specifically for kids. Kid’s Pack #1 and Kid’s Pack #2 provide a total of 50 levels combined, all of which have been toned down in difficulty from the puzzles included in the base game.

Founder Brian Greenstone explains, "So, for our first Level Packs we designed 50 new levels which are much easier than the ones that come with Enigmo, but they still present a challenge." More level packs are in the works for Enigmo, though no hard release date has been set.

Flick Fishing
Publisher/Developer: Freeverse

One of the top ten apps to date, Flick Fishing is reeling in new downloadable content with the release of firmware update 3.0. The Private Beach Pack, which is accessible from within the app, offers a new location on the GPS map, four additional fishes (Grouper, Striped Bass, Barracuda, and a unique game-specific variety), and another head-to-head multiplayer mode called Fish Jack.

In the new peer-to-peer mode designed specifically for 3.0, you square off with a buddy to catch a fish closest to a predetermined weight. "This new Flick Fishing update embraces the latest advances to iPhone and iPod touch," trumpets Freeverse President Ian Lynch Smith. "We're excited to bring users a great content pack that's of real value and will truly add to their game play experience."

Star Defense
Publisher: ngmoco
Developer: Rough Cookie

While ngmoco has promised new planet packs for in-app download, those aren't quite available yet in the first post-3.0 update to the game. Instead, Star Defense is the first title to support the new Plus+ network that brings friends, followers, and point-based achievements.

The free service currently supports Star Defense when you sign up, tracking the commendations earned when playing this stellar take on tower defence. Other improvements include push notifications intended to keep you in the loop of high scores and the availability of new content. "Direct Challenges via Push Notification Service provide a compelling, new way for Star Defense fans to stay connected anytime, anywhere," says CEO Neil Young.

Topple 2
Publisher: ngmoco
Developer: Muteki

Several games already feature the option to playback your own music using the device's iPod, but it's now a standard feature with firmware 3.0 and Topple 2 leverages it in this update.

A new button located in the options menu now lets you draft a playlist of tracks from your iPod for listening during your block-building sessions. CEO Neil Young explains: "This update will give users more control of their iPod music and is a perfect follow-up to our previous social and game-play expanding updates."

Integration with the new Plus+ network is planned for a future update.

Leaf Trombone: World Stage
Publisher/Developer: SonicMule

Notification support isn't the only thing that Smule is offering in its update to surprise hit Leaf Trombone. Duets via Bluetooth open up possibilities for musical collaborations. “iPhone OS 3.0 fundamentally changes the mobile social experience," says Dr Ge Wang of Smule.

Free of charge, the update allows you to easily connect with a buddy locally using Bluetooth to play songs together. A "Feel the Love" competition celebrating the update launches today, too, where the leaf trombonist who earns the most positive praise for performances can win $500.

Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party
Publisher/Developer: Hudson

Slipping under the radar with all of today's big news regarding the firmware update and ngmoco's Plus+ network launching, Bomberman Touch 2 has been released with support for the update.

Multiplayer for two enables you to team up with a friend to complete maze stages filled with lava. Thanks to 3.0, you don't need to worry about connecting via a local wi-fi network. Iinstead, the game uses Bluetooth for easy ad-hoc connectivity.

Tap Tap Revenge 2
Publisher/Developer: Tapulous

Integration with firmware update 3.0 allows push notification to bulk up challenges sent to your friends in this immensely popular musical hit. While challenges aren't new to the game, now you're able to follow high scores more easily with automatic updates.

Songs are still downloaded for free via updates, although we're hoping that in-app commerce will enable the download of new tunes from within the game itself. Tapulous is welcome to keep them free, though!
