GTA: Chinatown Wars highest scoring DS game ever
And it's not even out yet
Well, we gave GTA: Chinatown Wars one of our much coveted Platinum Awards, and judging by the initial impressions we took a look at around the blogosphere, we weren’t the only ones who pegged the first DS GTA title as a rip-roaring success.
Both GameRankingsand Metacritichave made a career out of compiling aggregate scores for video games, and only hours after the game’s official release, both sites have proven it to be the highest scoring DS game of all time (just as analysts were predicting).
Weighing in at an impressive 94.54 per cent on GameRankings (a score calculated from 12 independent reviews) and 95 per cent on Metacritic (based on 15 reviews), Chrono Trigger has been well and truly knocked off the top spot.
It’s still early days for GTA: Chinatown Wars, of course, and that score could drop if a few rogue critics decide not to join the pack, but the fact that it went straight into the number one spot is something Rockstar Leeds should be very proud of - especially to say it hasn't even been released yet on its native shores.
