Update: Rockstar has now revealed the GTA: Chinatown Wars boxart.

It was waaaaay back at E3 2008 when we first heard about the DS specific version of the controversial Grand Theft Auto franchise, and we were more than a little disappointed when news of a GTA: Chinatown Wars delay surfaced a few weeks back.

We'd quietly hoped to see it around Christmas, or by the end of 2008, but it's now looking as though we'll have to wait until March 17th 2009 (St. Patrick's Day, no less - insert your own joke about drink driving here), according to Joystiq.

Mind you, this is a US release date - those of us who don't live in the colonies will have to wait a whole extra three days for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. The cheek of it!

It's a long wait, to be sure, but not knowing is what's going on is the worst part, and at least that's over. Set your alarm clocks for spring, car thieves!
