50 celebrities bioengineer their own Spore creatures
Spore invites struggling celebs to show off their Creature Creations
We all know, thanks to Hello and OK magazines, that if a celebrity isn't doing it, it's not worth doing.
To fill the yawning gap in celebrity endorsed gaming, Maxis has invited 50 struggling celebs to put their names against Spore; getting together in their own obscure, semi-organic collective to give birth to creative creatures.
Reading through the list of 'celebrities'* isn't much different from taking a glance in the phone book, however - eventually you see a name you recognise, but it's not necessarily the person you think it is. Then again, it's hard to be entirely disdainful of any marketing gimmick that manages to get the great Adam West involved, and hopefully he'll have had the good sense to create some kind of camp bat-like animal as his in-game entity.
There's talk of a website being put together to showcase the bioengineering talents of the C-list, but no indication of what it actually is just yet. Hit 'Track It!' to keep informed of how the Batman fares in building a man-bat, and in the meantime here's a list of the Spore Idol finalists:
