Codemasters has announced the continued expansion of its Overlord franchise in the shape of Overlord Minions for Nintendo's popular handheld.

The series places you in the role of an evil despot, bending your minion's will to your own, despicable ends. The game carries a suitably comic lilt, however, so the dastardly and callous actions presumably won't weigh too heavily on your conscience.

The game involves guiding your army of subjugates into battle and commanding them to solve various, nefarious puzzles. Physical comedy also plays a strong part in the game's humour, and a brand new story from award-winning games writer Rhianna Pratchett helps to keep the tone light and the action dark.

The Minions must prevent Silas, head of a new Cult, from resurrecting a dragon and threatening the Overlord's totalitarianism. A huge range of new enemies from infected sheep, goats, spiders, paladins, dwarves, mutated trolls, scorpions, winged elves and more attempt to put paid to your evil plans.

Set with a loose release date of 2009, you're well advised to command the 'Track It!' button to bend to your dastardly ways and report any further Overlord Minions news as it arrives.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
