Czech developer Hardwire and Swedish developer Erphenic Studios are working on a mobile version of Gish, an innovative PC/Mac game that scooped a host of awards back in 2005.

Gish Mobile sees you playing a 12-pound ball of tar, rolling, jumping, wall-hugging and generally glooping your way through a series of platform levels.

It looks like it could be the dark and twisted yang to SolaRola's bright and colourful ying. If that makes sense.

Hardwire says that Gish Mobile will be based on a ninja J2ME physics engine, to ensure everything feels just right. We've just been watching the video trailer, and it's fair to say it knocked our socks off.

The game will have a single-player campaign mode, but also Bluetooth multiplayer modes, including deathmatch and co-op.

It's shaping up as a mobile game well worth getting excited about. Click 'Track It!' for an alert when we get our hands on it.
