Capcom grabs Are You Smarter? mobile game licence

TV shows designed to make people look stupid are nothing new but Are You Smarter Than a 10 Year Old? takes the idea to its logical conclusion.

The format sees an adult answering a series of questions about topics ranging from History and Maths to Geography, which are sourced from textbooks for 6 to 10 year-olds

Each contestant is given the opportunity to answer the questions but if they get stuck, there is the humiliating option of turning to the know-it-all youngsters for help.

The mobile game seems to be a simple test-based retread of this set-up and there is no reason why it shouldn't work well. After all, Gameloft has already made boxes of cash out of its Deal or No Deal mobile game, and has recently released a similar tie-in based on the Jasper Carrott-fronted Golden Balls.

Interestingly, this time round Capcom is taking up the publishing reigns on Are You Smarter?, and although action games are usually more its strength, we're confident it should be able to deliver a polished mobile take on this simple formula. Hosts Noel Edmonds, and Dick and Dom don't appear to be part of the deal however, which will be a good (or bad) depending on your attitude to said gentlemen.
