Dream Pinball DS announced by SouthPeak Games
Rolling out early next year
We must admit that many virtual pinball games don't do much for us, but we're willing to concede that SouthPeak's latest sounds like it might form part of those that do.
For a start, it's remarkably comprehensive. Described as a "cutting-edge pinball simulation", you can choose from six balls of varying material. So you can be thwacking about a sphere made from marble, oak, ivory (good thing it's virtual – imagine the uproar from the Worldwide Fund For Abolishing Ivory Pinballs) and gold, to name four types.
The game also features six distinctive tables, such as the aquatic one shown in the one screenshot so far released of the game. Each comes complete with multiple areas, secrets and special effects. There's also a multiplayer mode planned where up to four players compete head-to-head for high scores.
Dream Pinball is due for release on DS in February 2008 and we'll try to get to grips with it between now and then.
