We've known FIFA 08 is imminent for mobile for a while now, but EA Mobile has just officially announced details of the game, which is due on sale from operators this Friday.

The game will feature more than 100 licensed teams from the five major European leagues (sorry Belgians, that's not you), as well as a full line-up of international squads.

The core of the game looks set to be its Season mode, although there's a new Club Challenge mode too, which puts you in specific scenarios: for example, scraping a win from 1-1 with half an hour left and only ten men on the pitch.

Sky Sports pundit Andy Gray features with analysis and commentary, and EA is promising a large database of player stats and abilities. There's also a new 'in form players' feature, where for every match, three players are randomly granted an ability boost.

Weirdly though, the game appears to have junked the console-style side-on camera views that we loved in FIFA 07 in favour of a return to the game's isometric roots, judging by the screenshots and the accompanying video;
