Insaniquarium splashes onto mobile

Is there something fishy about this one?

Insaniquarium splashes onto mobile

Mobile phones are already replacing digital cameras and PDAs in the nation's pocket-limited affections. And now the portable goldfish bowl market is about to take a dive.

After all, anyone who has ever tried to take their pet fish with them while catching a bus or taking a train will surely welcome Insaniquarium Deluxe.

Part puzzle game, part fish tank simulator, Insaniquarium Deluxe gives you 12 levels across three pretty-looking aquariums, six exotic fish species, pets that can help you care for your fish, and alien intruders that for unspecified reasons have chosen in invade your aquatic habitat as opposed to storming the White House or the U.N. headquarters.

It sounds like it shouldn't work, but it does – over 20 million copies of PopCap's PC version have been downloaded, and publisher Glu has previously converted PopCap's excellent Zuma and AstroPop games, so it has the pedigree of the finest fancy goldfish.

Already available in the US, we expect Insaniquarium Deluxe to bubble up onto European networks around June.
