In a regular look at what's happening on the App Store Top 100 over on PocketGamer.biz, we've been doing some chart watching and number crunching.

In the interests of making things as easy for the Pocket Gamer readers though, here are the main points.

Despite costing $7.99, The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition is the highest new entry at 18, while Playdom's popular MySpace mob game comes to iPhone and iPod touch in the form of Mobsters: Big Apple - 99c - and in at 28.

Publisher Ludia has been Peggling(TM) its games, with the price drop to 99c boosting The Price Is Right to the number one position. Hell's Kitchen also re-enters the chart at 78.

Com2uS's Baseball Slugger: Home Run Race 3D jumps ten places to 23 based on its price cut to 99c from $2.99.

Other sale movers worth pointing out include Scoops, which was given away free to celebrate US National Ice Cream Day, and jumps 20 places to 59, while IUGO's Star Hogs is up to 70 thanks to a cut from $4.99 to $2.99.

In terms of the numbers, the average price of a game has dropped compared to our previous research. It's now $2.68, meaning - of course - buying the entire chart would cost you $268.

The top publishers were EA and Gameloft, both of whom had nine games in the Top 100.
