Hello and welcome to Ahead of the Game, a series where we tell you all about an upcoming game that, despite not being out yet, is available for you to play at the time of publishing. Through this series, you can grab a chance to play games well ahead of their release date, be that through Soft Launch, Open Beta, Demos, or more.
While the idea of fragile eggs colliding into each other might sound counterproductive, that's exactly what you'll be doing in the aptly titled Clash of Eggs, where it's exactly as it says on the tin. You'll pit eggs against each other on an epic quest to save the princess, with all kinds of eggy encounters you'll make along the way.
The idle RPG offers a convenient portrait mode and easy progression mechanics, where a single tap can level up your egg heroes to boost your combat power. You'll summon even more yolk-based warriors to join your cause as you go along, with a wide variety of character designs that are just too adorable to resist.
There are police eggs, bandit eggs, and eggs with scholar hats and togas on, and while I personally wouldn't want to attack someone with my alien laser gun as soon as they step out of their graduation ceremony, it seems I don't really have much of a choice because the princess needs saving and they're standing in my way. Sorry, new grads - Eggking's orders.
As you "turn this field into a path to her freedom", you can also develop your base to boost your team, all while upgrading buildings and unlocking more of the World Map along the way. You'll do all these as you get stronger and stronger with each new stage.
And if you persevere long enough, you might even encounter an epic egg boss who looks suspiciously like Thanos - stones and purple chin included.
So, how do you play Clash of Eggs?
The hilarious idle RPG is currently in its early access phase on Google Play, so if you're an Android user, you can give this chaotic adventure a go yourself. It might even be worth it just to see the animation that plays whenever you're defeated in the battlefield (hint: broken egg shells and oozing egg yolks abound).
