Seems fishy

Multiplayer piratical RTS Age of Booty Tactics will be sailing onto iOS in early 2014

If you dive down far enough into the PG archives, you'll find that we 'reckoned' Age of Booty was heading to iOS and Android in January 2012.

Following on from that, an Android-only version of the game called Age of Booty: The Deathly Isles WAS supposed to drop anchor last summer. Alas, it never materialised.

Since then, there's been nothing but radio silence from developer Certain Affinity on these ports. And Age of Booty still isn't available on mobile in any form.

So, what's going on?

Age of Booty Tactics

Well, Pocket Tactics spoke to Certain Affinity about its multiplayer sea-faring hex-based RTS earlier today.

It turns out that the mobile version of the game is now known as Age of Booty Tactics. It will be sailing onto iOS in early 2014. Nothing is mentioned regarding the Android version of the game, unfortunately.

We also now know that the single-player mode from The Deathly Isles won't be present in the iOS adaptation. Oh, and that Age of Booty Tactics will be free-to-play, will feature asynchronous online multiplayer matches, and will have an offline pass-the-handset multiplayer option.

As always with these matters, we'll keep you updated on Age of Booty Tactics over the coming months.
