Across Age 2 will cast its hacky slashy retro spell over iPad and iPhone on January 16th
It is, quite literally, about time
If you like your RPGs to have a good dollop of A and you enjoy hanging about in the 16-bit past wearing rose-tinted spectacles and arguing about which Zelda dungeon is the best, then you'll be glad to read that Across Age 2 has a confirmed release date.
This dungeon-delving retro action RPG is set to hit the App Store on January 16th. By my calculations, that means you'll be able to grab it for your iPad or iPhone a week from now.
If you hadn't already worked it out, by the way, Across Age 2 is a sequel to 2010's Across Age.
In this follow-up, you'll scuttle through an isometric-ish world, throwing swords around and swapping between two of four playable characters to solve puzzles, nab loot, and stab monsters.
Sometimes, you'll be in a boat. Sometimes, you'll be bimbling through green pastures. Sometimes, you'll be legging it through magma-filled caverns. It's all in a day's work for a retro-adventurer, really.
There's a time travelling story binding the whole thing together, which will probably make more sense if you've played the original game. Probably.
Across Age 2 will go live on the App Store on January 16th. We'll let you know how much it'll cost when we find out.
